At the mall, I stopped to look at an adorable pair of black suede slides I've been eyeing. It was the third time I stopped, picked them up, turned them over to inspect every angle, slipped my foot in and admired how damn fabulous they are...I really want them, but I'm having a hard time choking back the price.
Sugah Pie and Sweet Pea agreed they are spectacular and advised I should get them. With a sigh, I put them back and started to walk out of the store.
"Why aren't you buying them?" Sugah Pie asked.
"They're pretty expensive, hun" I replied.
Sweet Pea piped up, "You're worth it, Mom."
I shrugged and told them I really didn't have an occasion to wear them.
Sugah Pie stopped cold, looked me dead in the eye, and raised one brow. "We're women. We don't need an excuse to buy shoes."
I am so proud.
