AMERICAN MUSIC AWARDS '06

A big HELL YEAH! for Vancouver-based Nickelback, winner of AMA'S 2006 Best Pop/Rock album for "All the Right Reasons." Lead singer, Chad Kroeger, was quoted as saying, "This is extremely unexpected." Ummm, not by Nickelback fans!! : )

I'm not knocked out by the actual awards shows...is anyone really surprised anymore by the Beauties strutting their sparkly stuff, and stiff, trying-too-hard humour?? Blech. What I like is seeing artist's get the old pat-on-the-back...it's even better when they didn't expect it. Other winners this year that I've got the giddies for:

* The Black Eyed Peas - Fave Rap/Hip-Hop Group
* Eminem - Fave Male Rap/Hip-Hop Artist
* Faith Hill - Fave Female Country Artist
* Rascall Flatts - Best Country Group
* Tim McGraw - Fave Country Album

As for me...blah, blah day, not worth blogging about, so I always fall back on music. Songs that have me by the throat this week:

"Welcome to the Black Parade" - My Chemical Romance
"Comin' Home" - City and Colour

BOLO on this young, Oklahoma-based band, Hinder, they're smokin' hot!! Best quote in their bio: "...lyrics you can really understand, not just some dark shit." For an edgy, bittersweet ballad, check out recently released "Lips of an Angel."
